Listen to our interview with
river dwellers of the banks of the Pend Oreille River about 60 miles north of Spokane, Washington. They started caching with the
Garmin Rino 120 but upgraded to the
Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx for the improved reception. To load both units he uses
MacCaching. His favorite location to date was
Hawaii and dreams of hitting
Australia. His favorite hide was
Ruby Ferry (
GCYM9B). One of his more memorable hunts was for
Camels Prairie Stash (
GC25) during an event. For other entertainment he likes the
Lord of the Rings movies,
24 on television, and listening to
Michael Bublé.
Our "
Tip for the Seasoned Cacher" comes from Listener
wademercer:
"When you come across a cache that is damaged or in need of repair, add a maintenance log to alert the owner. I have found that most owners will send an email back, and usually will give a time frame as to when they can make the repair. If they have moved or are far away (and you are close to the cache) you might offer to replace the cache container for them. This will get the cache up and running again for other cachers, and also earn you brownie points!"
Thanks to
Cache Advance for their donated gift package (Cache Advance Hat,
Green 3.5" x 6" Medium Cache Sticker, &
"Abomination - Rock Harbor" by Colleen Coble).
