For the
one-hundredth edition of the GeoGearHeads
The Bad Cop and
DarrylW4 handle a packed agenda of random topics. First was
feedback from
[Team D]Benignsource (through his blog post),
subwaymark,
KristaWalks,
Nighthawk700,
CodeJunkie (through his
post on a regional forum),
wolrab (through his blog
post), and
BananaForce about their promotion of the GeoGearHeads. Next was
the announcement of the "2013
GeoGearHead Audience Survey," where one lucky entry by the end
of the year will receive a Magellan
eXplorist GC (listen to the show for more information).
"Giz" called in about a premium activity at the Greenbrier Resort which lead into
discussion of Geoteaming.
ds8300
contacted DarrylW4 about getting a GeoGearHeads Show
unique.
Geosphere 3.1 was the next item on the agenda. Then The Bad Cop
got into the modular phones with the announcements from
Motorola and
ZTE. They also talked a little about
GPS Tracklog's First looks at the Android-based Garmin
Monterra. Next was articles about new mobile devices –
"The
Verge: Spec Sheet: Motorola shakes up low-cost smartphones with the
Moto G" and "Android
Central: Tegra Note 7 review." Some more information about
T-Mobile's 200MB of free data for tablets came out.
Engadget and
The Vergewrote about a Google Glass Explorer who received a
ticket for wearing Glass while she was driving. Finally was some
discussion about the rule changes to flights in the U.S. and the
E.U. allowing personal electronics in all stages of flights. Here
are some links to articles on The Verge for more information:
