GeoGearHeadsFor the one-hundred eighth edition of the GeoGearHeads John Robb returns to talk about lasers and geocaching. On his fourth appearance, John Robb (of Cache At Night who caches under teamvoyagr) shares some of the issues to consider when attempting a laser-based geocache, advantages, disadvantages, and some examples. John's first laser cache was "After Dark Duet" (GC24MXZ) which lead him and his partner to create "BFL Boot Camp V - Alien MacGyver" (GC2EYDW). So other example laser caches are "BFL VI - ...in a galaxy far, far away" (GC35FHF) and "BFL 7: Sin - Blinded By The Light" (GC40V3B). He also provided the "Angular Size Calculator" page for helping calculate errors. A couple of caches created with their Laser Loci are "Knights Templar" (GC4Q90W) and "GAG20 - Loki (NIGHT CACHE)" (GC4NWN9). Thanks to StevensAdInfinitum and Two_Drews for their audio feedback used in this episode.

Congratulations to subwaymark for submitting the winning answer for this week's question. Thanks to Cache At Night for their donation of this week's gift!

GeoGearHeadsFor the one-hundred seventh edition of the GeoGearHeads we talk with the Geocaching Vlogger. We also heard from Fishheadjr about how he uses geocaching videos to get inspiration, PadreJim and the video of one of his movements, and the UnDrCacher about his viewing and channel. Nighthawk700 wrote in about captioning videos and how well some videos like "Geocaching.com's Lost & Found Video Trailer" are done.

Congratulations to PadreJim for submitting the winning answer for this week's question. Thanks to Cache At Night for their donation of this week's gift!

GeoGearHeadsThe creators of Sighter join us for the one-hundred sixth edition of the GeoGearHeads. (They spoke briefly about the venture on "UK Geocaching Podcast 25" last year.) The photography-based geolocation game is available for free on Android and iOS. DudleyGrunt, Two_Drews, and Nighthawk700 shared their initial reactions to the game. The creators also talked about the branded "Lakeland Treasures game (available for iOS) and the associated video. In a rare occurrence we recorded a few minutes after the show (available following the credits in the audio version or as a separate video on YouTube) answering some questions from DudleyGrunt, nativtxn, and Wet_Coaster during the show.

Congratulations to Urbandude23 for submitting the winning answer for this week's question. Thanks to Cache At Night for their donation of this week's gift!

GeoGearHeadsThe Bad Cop made a trip to the Groundspeak office (Geocaching.com's parent) to grab several interviews for the one-hundred fifth edition of the GeoGearHeads. The first of those interviews with Bryan and UncleJames you'll find in this episode (there are two more we'll share in future episodes and another is available on episode 25 of "Caching in the Northwest"). One bit of information shared was the coming development of a Geocaching Intro app for Android, similar to the free "Geocaching Intro" app for iOS. UncleJames also shared a little about the 31 of 31 streaking and the role of Geocaching.com Souvenirs. Finally we heard about the hamsters powering the Geocaching.com servers.
We also heard from XpunkX that the service that had allowed for SMS connections to Geocaching.com was TextMarks.

Happy birthday to Nighthawk700, and congratulations on submitting the winning answer for this week's question. Thanks to Cache At Night for their donation of this week's gift! Congratulations as well to Cacheikers for the winning entry submitted in the 2013 GeoGearHead Audience Survey! If you've not had the chance to fill that out, please take a few minutes to do so as that does help shape our coming shows.
