For the
one-hundred sixteenth edition of the GeoGearHeads we revisit the
subject of batteries (see Beta.01
and Beta.02
for the first two).
The Bad Cop and
DarrylW4 started with some information about Heavy Duty,
Alkaline,
Lithium,
NiCd,
NiMH,
and LSD
NiMH AA and AAA batteries. Then they looked at a question from
Wet_Coaster about NiMH performance in cold weather. There were
a couple of resources from
Panasonic and a PDF by
Boguslaw Pierozynski with some helpful information.
LANMonkey also asked about the life and charging of NiHM
batteries. They then tackled the rechargeable batteries for mobile
devices – LiOn,
LiPo,
and Lead-Acid.
Some helpful tips were shared from
Lifehacker and more information is available from
Battery University. They wrapped the show up talking a little
about fuel cells and the
Brunton Hydrogen Reactor.
Congratulations to
LANMonkey for submitting the winning answer for this week's
question. Thanks to Cache At Night for their donation of this week's
gift!
